Pastor Penny D. Weston
Pastor Penny Weston is a devoted mother of three and a proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren. Pastor Weston is currently the Senior Pastor of Second Christian Church of Jefferson City, Mo. Pastor Weston began her spiritual journey at Second Missionary Baptist Church of Mexico Mo, under the leadership of Pastor T. L Garner.
Pastor is an Associate of Arts graduate of Criminal Justice major. Her love for fashion comes from going to college in St. Louis Missouri for fashion and Merchandising. Although it was not the total plan on her will to graduate, Pastor Weston went and got her certificate in travel and Cosmetology schools. Pastor Weston never let her love for hair and fashion go un-noticed.
Pastor Weston shares many hats as she has been employed with Compass Health for over 12 years with 9 of those years as a caseworker. Pastor Weston has had the honor of sharing Christ with adolescents of the Compass Navig-8 to the women with substance abuse and mental health concerns at the McCambridge Center.
Her Ministry initially began with her late husband Pastor Vernell Weston and daughter, VerShay. The trio had a family music ministry that traveled around Mid-West promoting their love and devotion for Christ.
Pastor Weston has seen her share of heartache and pain with her daughter Brandy who passed away unexpectedly in 2012. This loss made her question God and shook her faith, but the Lord renewed in her a sense of comfort and understanding, and he showed her that even though she lost her child, Brandy was a child of Gods first and he had an assignment that took the shaking of Pastor Weston to be called to the assignment.
In May of 2014, Pastor Weston accepted her calling to Christ under the leadership of Pastor Cedric Harris of Second Christian Church in Fulton Mo. God being who he is continued moving Pastor Weston and family around to various churches to spread the message of God love through music and preaching. The final race was won when he chose to place her at Second Christian Church as Co-Pastor. The Lord saw fit to have her ordained, June 6th, 2015, at Second Christian Church of Fulton, Mo.
On July 12, 2015, she was officially installed as Second Christian Churches Pastor, along with her husband.
In January of 2023, there was another great loss in her life. After the unexpectant loss of her husband, Pastor Vernell Weston, it was then that Pastor Penny Weston was again shaken, but her faith did not whither the storm. Many nights of wrestling with the enemy, Pastor Weston had a breakthrough with God and was told to continue preaching in season and out of season.
This is her season for Grace and Favor! This is her season to reap what she has sown!
